Professional Profile

Latisha is enthusiastic about helping clients understand the many influences that contribute to child and adolescent development, and the role these play throughout the course of one’s life. She has worked with children and adolescents from two years of age, with a variety of clinical presentations.

To achieve positive change in the realms of home life, social interactions, the workplace, and education, she utilises evidence-based psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. Latisha is proficient in delivering Telehealth services in a creative, respectful, and enjoyable fashion, catering to the unique needs and interests of the clients.

She adeptly integrates principles from various approaches for parent management training, including Circle of Security, Tuning into Kids, the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions Model, and Integrated Family Interventions, aimed at empowering parents to acquire essential skills for enhancing their child’s social, emotional, and behavioural functions, as well as promoting the overall wellbeing of the parents themselves.

Furthermore, Latisha has gained valuable experience understanding the unique challenges that individuals and families face during the perinatal period, including hormonal fluctuations, sleep deprivation, physical changes, and the adjustment to new roles and responsibilities, as well as the potential effects on the parent-child bond. Latisha has completed perinatal specific training with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and Seleni Institute.
